Media Performance
The story this month

Search and Performance Max scaled on top of Meta: reach is up sharply, conversions still catching up.

In early July the account added four Google Search tactics and a Performance Max push on top of the steady Meta always-on engine, and spend nearly doubled. Impressions, clicks and CTR jumped while cost per click fell, but the new spend has not converted yet, so CPA rose and ROAS settled at 4.4x. The read is ramp, not alarm, with the next two weeks the test.

Spend steps up about 2.5x on 7 Jul when Google Search launched (bars turn red), while conversions (line) stay roughly flat. That gap is why CPA rose and ROAS fell this window. The partial current day is omitted.

The reports behind these numbers

Analysis & next steps

What this means

The July numbers capture a scale-up, not a pivot. The Meta always-on engine kept running (its Convert campaign is still the single biggest line of spend), and in early July we layered four Google Search tactics plus a Performance Max push on top. Spend nearly doubled, and the new top of funnel responded immediately: impressions up 93%, clicks up 212%, CTR up to 2.15%, and CPC down to $0.97.

The new spend has not converted yet, so blended CPA rose to $25.26 and ROAS settled at 4.4x, down from 10x when Meta was carrying a smaller, highly efficient base. This is the expected shape of adding paid search. The read is ramp, not alarm, but the next two weeks need to show Search and PMax converting.

Recommended next actions

  • Prioritize conversion tracking and bidding on the four Search campaigns. Product search carries 47% of Search spend and should be optimized first.
  • Give Performance Max a defined budget and treat it as a contained test until it proves out.
  • Protect the Meta always-on engine that is currently carrying blended efficiency.
  • Clear the Najeau Meta re-auth alert so Meta reporting stays complete for the next pull.
